New York, 1994, an alcoholic failed author Clive Weston buys a Vietnamese pot-bellied piglet named ‘POPPY’ as a pet for his wife Lucy and their young children as an apology present for being an absent husband and father.
This backfires on Clive when Poppy eats the only copy of
his unfinished novel.
Unbeknownst to his family, Clive wants to slaughter and eat Poppy out of vengeance, but the beloved pig has become a dear member of the family.
Clive has reached breaking point, as the home is no longer big enough for the both them.
